Mr Sherif A Elshazly

Mr Elshazly qualified as a dentist in Cairo in 2000 and then entered specialist training under the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. By 2003 he passed the speciality entry exams and was appointed as a registrar of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Kobri Elkobba Military hospital, which is one of the Royal College of Surgeons overseas training facilities and the largest military tertiary care facility in the Middle East and Africa. He served as a medical officer for more than 3 years to complete training and sit the final exam of Membership of the College in 2006. He was then elected a member of the Royal College and remains so in good standing.
In 2011, he cleared the General Dental Council Overseas Registration Examination and became licensed to practice in the UK. He relocated to the UK where he developed his skills further to be elected a Fellow of Dental Surgery of the Royal College in 2015. He is keen on teaching junior surgeons and taught year 2 medical students core clinical skills when he was appointed Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow of Warwick Medical School. He is also teaching faculty on the Royal College of Surgeons England renowned Basic Surgical Skills annual course. His main areas of interest are : all minor oral surgeries, diagnosis and management of oral soft tissues lesions, and management of trauma in the head and neck region. He is due to complete his master’s degree in Craniofacial Trauma Reconstruction from the prestigious Queen Mary University of London in September 2019. Recently, he has been invited by the Egyptian Army Medical Corps as a "visiting expert “ providing consultations and surgical management of difficult surgical cases , as well as teaching lectures to surgical trainees. In his practice of oral surgery, Mr Elshazly pays particular detail to his bedside manner ensuring that his manner is both reassuring and informative to patients who may be nervous about oral surgical procedures.
Mr Elshazly is bilingual speaking fluent English and Arabic. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his young family and is an avid squash player.
